Dear Parish Family,
Lent 2026 is around the corner. I would like to invite the whole community of St. Anastasia Church and School, seniors, seasonal parishioners, longtime members, newcomers and guests - into a journey that will help prepare us for Easter. I am calling it The Great Exchange!
Each week during Lent, Jesus will invite us to trade something that weighs us down for something only He can give:
shame for grace,
uncertainty for His promise,
thirst for living water,
blindness for His vision,
death for life, and finally
our self for our Savior.
Let us make this a parish and school‑wide movement.
I’m asking you to commit to all six weeks. From Ash Wednesday, February 18 through Palm Sunday. Come to St. Anastasia Church and bring your family, bring a friend, bring someone who hasn’t been to church in a while.
Let’s walk this road together as we begin to make The Great Exchange and let God do what only God can do.
In Christ,
Fr. George and Fr. Josh
P.S. Personally invite someone to The Great Exchange. Everyone knows someone who needs hope, healing or a fresh start. This lent invite someone to join you. A simple invitation could change a life.
What if Lent isn’t about what you give up,
but what God wants to give you?
This year, our parish enters a powerful Lenten journey called
The Great Exchange.
It will be a six‑week series where Jesus trades:
our shame for His grace,
our fear for His promise,
our emptiness for living water,
our blindness for clarity of vision,
our death for life, and
Our self for our Savior.
Lent is not about self‑improvement rather, an exchange.
Come and join us each Sunday during Lent,
as we walk through the Gospel lessons that reveal the God who takes what is broken
and gives back what is redeemed.
Ash Wednesday → Palm Sunday
Come ready. Come hungry. Come expecting God to move in your life.
