Thank you for your interest in your child receiving the Sacrament of Baptism! The Church teaches us that "Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated in the Church and made sharers in her mission." (Catechism of teh Catholic Church, 123)

Through Baptism, we fulfill the Great Commission given to us by Jesus at the end of Matthew's Gospel: "God and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe atll that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." (Mt. 28:19-20)
Requirements

Parent Requirements
Must be a registered member of the Parish for at least six months.

Baptisms are conferred on first and third Sunday of the month following the 11:30am Mass.

All paperwork must be completed before a Baptism will be scheduled. This consists of the Baptismal Registration Form and Baptismal Sponsor Form, both of which can be found below.

Godparent Requirements
According to Canon Law: Can. 872 Insofar as possible, a person to be baptized is to be given a sponsor who assists an adult in Christian initiation or together with the parents presents an infant for baptism. A sponsor also helps the baptized person to lead a Christian life in keeping with baptism and to fulfill faithfully the obligations inherent in it.Can. 873
There is to be only one male sponsor or one female sponsor or one of each.Can. 874 §1.

To be permitted to take on the function of sponsor a person must:
Be a Baptized and Confirmed Catholic
Be a registered memeber of the parish
Be a regular participant at Sunday Mass
In a Sacramental Marriage (if applicable)
Leading a life in harmony with the Catholic Faith and the role of Sponsor which he/she about to assume
