Thank you for your interest in your child receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation! The Church teaches us that “by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed." (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1285)
We are reminded of the words of Jesus in the Upper Room: “‘Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.’ And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’” (John 20:21-22)
Your family’s experience as your child walks through preparation for Confirmation includes the following:- Child attending small groups sessions to build friendship and be formed in the Catholic faith
- Parent sessions to grow deeper in the faith to better raise their children in the Catholic faith
- Separate retreats for children and parents to experience an encounter with God
- Other formative experiences specific to Confirmation preparation
The typical age for Confirmation preparation at St. Anastasia is 14-18 (9th-12th grade). Sessions take place on Monday nights from 5:30-7:00pm in the Parish Center.
The cost for Confirmation preparation is $200 per child. -
Confirmation Info SessionsThese sessions give an opportunity for the church to get to know our families and ways we can support them. These sessions will also share the Confirmation process and expectations of which the parent(s) must agree upon before their child enters the preparation process.
Parents, please bring your child’s birth certificate, sacrament certificates (Baptism, First Communion), and a form of payment.
Upon filling out the inquiry form, a member of our faith formation staff will call to schedule you for one of our four inquiry sessions. Please be prepared to inform our staff which of the following dates you as a parent plan to attend:- COMPLETED - Monday, August 18th from 5:30-6:30pm in the Parish Center
- COMPLETED - Monday, August 25th from 5:30-6:30pm in the Parish Center
- Sunday, September 7th after the 11:30am Mass to 1:30pm in the Parish Center
- Sunday, September 14th after the 11:30am Mass to 1:30pm in the Parish Center
